USC's rotation is led by Mason Edwards, who is undefeated at 8-0.

Nick Scherr, known online as NISMO Nick, announced a custom T-top conversion based on the current-generation Nissan Z.

The project serves as the centerpiece of his new “Open Air Collection,” a trio of open-top Nissan builds set to debut next year.

The collection also includes a heavily customized Murano CrossCabriolet and a one-off Juke Convertible concept.

Built To Look Factory Made

According to Nick, the goal isn’t simply to cut a hole in the roof. He wants the finished product to feel like something Nissan itself could have produced.

“The Nissan community is built on enthusiasm,” Nick said. “Some enthusiasts love OEM-plus builds that look like they could have rolled off the assembly line.

Others love wild concepts that push boundaries. The Open Air Collection is about celebrating all of it.”

The idea directly ties back to classic Z-cars that featured T-tops throughout various generations.

While the current Z offers the best performance in its family, Nick believes there’s room for improvement in visual appeal.

Regarding engineering challenges, he told Carscoops: “Some of the engineering challenges I am facing involve ensuring watertight sealing throughout the vehicle.

Areas of particular concern include the windshield, side windows, rear section, and the interfaces where the T-top panels meet the center T-bar.

Because this is a true T-top design rather than a targa roof, the sealing requirements are significantly more complex.”

He also noted concerns about wind noise and the side-curtain airbag system, though the latter is less critical for a one-off build.

A CrossCabriolet And A Drop-Top Juke

The T-top Z might not even be the most unusual vehicle in the collection.

Nick is also building a modernized take on the already quirky Murano CrossCabriolet and a drop-top version of the Nissan Juke.

Together, the collection evokes an alternate universe where market research didn’t dictate most decisions at the company level.

According to Nick, “Nissan insiders love the idea of the t-top Z. I know for a fact things I have designed and built have influenced Nissan.”

The North American-exclusive M3 CS Handschalter marks the end of the G80 M3 era, featuring a six-speed manual and rear-wheel drive.

BMW has not disclosed exact production numbers, but reports indicate the US will receive between 800 and 900 examples.

Regular BMW dealerships are allocated just one unit each; if a dealer passes, a second could go to another.

Certified M dealers may get two.

Since its debut weeks ago, allocations are being snapped up quickly, and many dealers have established lengthy waitlists.

BMW Blog reports that many dealers are charging over sticker, with some asking up to $25,000 above MSRP.

Exclusivity Comes At A Price

The limited-run M3 CS starts at $107,100, plus a $1,350 destination fee in the US, well above the base M3 sedan at $79,300 but slightly under the 2024 M3 CS at $118,700.

With markups, the Handschalter easily surpasses that figure.

Like the regular CS, the Handschalter weighs nearly 75 lbs less than the standard rear-drive M3 when equipped with optional carbon ceramic brakes.

It includes carbon fiber parts, tweaked steering, and shocks from the M4 CSL.

The 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six produces 473 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, compared to the all-wheel-drive M3 CS xDrive's 543 hp and 479 lb-ft.

The two companies signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to study contract manufacturing at the facility.

Under the proposed deal, Nissan would become a contract manufacturer, building Chery models while retaining ownership of the plant.

Production would be handled by Nissan employees.

Excess Capacity Meets Booming Sales

Nissan's Sunderland plant is currently underutilized. The company recently consolidated production on Line Two, freeing up Line One for potential Chery output.

Meanwhile, Chery's sales in the UK are growing rapidly.

If discussions are successful, Chery production could begin as early as the 2027 financial year.

The specific models to be built have not been announced, but Nissan indicated it would be a passenger vehicle designed for the UK market.

Nissan's Massimiliano Messina said, “We are looking forward to working with Chery International UK in the coming months to finalize a position that is optimal for both companies.”

He added, “This is an important step forward for our operations.”

Chery sells multiple brands in the UK, including Chery, Jaecoo, and Omoda.

In April, these three brands combined for 10,052 sales, far exceeding Nissan's 4,079 vehicles sold in the same period.

The FDJ United-SUEZ rider out-sprinted individual leader Anna van der Breggen and Antonia Niedermaier from a four-rider breakaway group to secure 10 crucial bonus seconds.

Van der Breggen secured second place to successfully defend her general classification lead, while Niedermaier finished third.

Queen Stage Action

The Queen stage intensified approximately 60 kilometers from the finish line on the Passo di Sant'Antonio climb.

Vollering and Marlen Reusser launched attacks against Van der Breggen, but the pink jersey holder responded strongly.

The general classification group fragmented heavily behind an earlier 20-rider breakaway, leaving several competitors isolated.

Lauren Dickson dropped back from the breakaway to pace Vollering, causing further separation among the top contenders.

Reusser and Elisa Longo Borghini fell behind on the subsequent climbs, with Reusser ultimately finishing 53 seconds behind the winner and dropping down the general classification standings.

A final four-rider selection emerged on the last climb, featuring Vollering, Van der Breggen, Niedermaier, and Isabella Holmgren.

Despite various attempts to prevent a group finish during the downhill run through the Piave Valley, the quartet cooperated into the final kilometers before launching the decisive dash to the line.

Vollering's Reaction

"I'm very happy to take the victory here, it's my first stage in the Giro so it's a nice one," said Vollering.

Vollering noted that the team executed their strategy perfectly by placing Amber Kraak and Eva van Agt into the early breakaway to provide vital support before the final ascent.

"It was a really long and hard day, we started racing already very early.

We wanted to have some riders of our team in the breakaway and we managed already with Amber and Lauren, like the plan it was perfect," she said.

The stage winner praised the exceptional work of her teammates, particularly highlighting Dickson's prolonged efforts on the flat sections and the lower slopes of the final climb.

"They did such an amazing job, at one point before came here on the last climb I still had Lauren in front of me, and she did amazing work after on the flat and on the first part of the last climb again," Vollering said.

Despite initiating her final move earlier than intended, Vollering expressed satisfaction with the aggressive collective effort displayed by her team throughout the demanding alpine route.

"I maybe went a little bit too early, so in the end I could not take the difference on the climb but yeah, it was a really nice day, we really raced with everything we had and it was a real battle out there," she said.

The next portion of the race features less challenging terrain before the peloton reaches the decisive weekend mountain stages.

Stage 6 is scheduled to roll out at 13:50 CET.

More than 30,000 fans attended the match, which remained goalless in the first half.

Fortaleza took the lead in the 54th minute when Vitinho scored from outside the penalty box.

Vitória equalized in the 83rd minute through a penalty converted by Renato Kayser, a former Fortaleza striker.

The winning goal came in stoppage time, with Argentine Diego Tarzia finding the net in the 47th minute.
