The children were successfully recovered and transported to a hospital for medical evaluation.

First responders provided emergency treatment to both men after pulling them from the water, but they were ultimately pronounced dead.

The North East Ambulance Service deployed multiple units, including three ambulance crews, a clinical team leader, a duty officer, and three Hazardous Area Response Team crews, alongside the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

“We received a call at 3.45pm on Sunday, July 12, to reports of an incident on Seaton Carew beach,” said a North East Ambulance Service spokesperson.

Ambulance personnel confirmed that two other patients from the scene required hospital care.

“We dispatched three ambulance crews, a clinical team leader, a duty officer, three crews from our Hazardous Area Response Team, and requested support from our colleagues at the Great North Air Ambulance Service who attended by road,” said a North East Ambulance Service spokesperson.

The air ambulance crew arrived by road to support the operation before the transport of patients took place.

“Two patients were taken to North Tees Hospital for further treatment,” said a North East Ambulance Service spokesperson.
