Kate Middleton chose a dark green coat by Sarah Burton for the arrival ceremony of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's state visit to Windsor.

The Princess of Wales paired the design with a matching hat by Juliette Botterill and carried a forest green Chanel handbag.

The color echoed green on Oman's national flag, following the royal tradition of honoring visiting dignitaries through formal attire.

Burton, who designed Catherine's wedding dress, no longer works at Alexander McQueen, though the princess has continued to wear designs from her tenure there.

Carriage Procession Through Windsor

King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Catherine received the Sultan at a ceremonial military reception on October 20, 2026.

Catherine did not join William when he met the Sultan at his London residence beforehand, arriving instead with the King and Queen for the reception on a royal dais on Datchet Road.

British and Omani delegations then traveled by carriage through Windsor's streets for a second military reception at Windsor Castle.

A small crowd gathered outside the castle despite cloudy skies and intermittent rain, with UK and Omani flags lining the route.

King Charles rode with Sultan Haitham in the Irish State Coach, while Queen Camilla and Oman's Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs followed in the Scottish State Coach.

William and Catherine shared the Australian State Coach with Oman's Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and the Secretary General of the Diwan of the Royal Court.

The two royal representatives also watched the Sovereign's Escort Rank ride past alongside Oman's Crown Prince, Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said.

The day's formal program was set to close with a state banquet in St. George's Hall at Windsor Castle.

Prince Harry and Meghan did not take part in the events, as they are no longer working royals.

The visit continues diplomatic ties between the British and Omani royal families, following the last Omani sultan's state visit in 1982, when Queen Elizabeth II hosted Sultan Qaboos bin Said at Buckingham Palace.

King Charles has visited Oman four times as Prince of Wales, and in July 2025 welcomed Sultan Haitham to Windsor Castle for tea and a private meeting.
