Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League Player of the Season for the 2025-26 campaign, the league announced on May 23, 2026.
The Portuguese midfielder created a league-high 132 scoring chances, 43 more than his closest rival, Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai.
Fernandes also equaled the all-time Premier League single-season assist record by registering his 20th assist against Nottingham Forest on the final weekend.
He added eight goals in 37 league appearances, helping Manchester United secure a third-place finish and a spot in the Champions League.
The award is the first time a Manchester United player has won the honor since defender Nemanja Vidic in 2011.
The winner was determined by a combination of public votes and selections from a panel of football experts.
Fernandes topped an eight-man shortlist that included David Raya, Gabriel, and Declan Rice of Arsenal, Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo of Manchester City, Igor Thiago of Brentford, and Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest.
Manchester United will conclude their domestic campaign on Sunday when they travel to face Brighton in their final league match.
