Vernon Kay came close to revealing a Celebrity Traitors spoiler during his BBC Radio 2 show, before his microphone was quickly faded down.
The presenter also responded to graffiti in West Denton, Newcastle, that claimed he listens to Steps while taking a bath.
During the October 6 broadcast, Kay asked whether anyone had left the Traitors castle.
Colleague Ellie Brennan warned against spoilers, but producer Phil McGarvey said someone had left and directed listeners to iPlayer.
Kay, 52, said he had nearly given away information and credited the quick fading of his microphone with preventing the disclosure.
"Good job the mic was down then.
Good job I was quick on the fade, we would have loads and loads of complaints on the texts.
Well done pal," Kay said.
McGarvey then acknowledged that he had forgotten what had happened despite only two episodes having aired.
Kay said he would avoid spoiling the series for viewers who had not caught up.
"Right, chill. It's not my fault people don't get it within 24 hours.
When was it last on?" he said.
Brennan told him the previous episode had aired the Friday before.
Kay responded that viewers had had enough time to catch up and again said he would not reveal what happened.
"Well, you've had lots of time. I won't spoil it.
I won't spoil it. What a show," he said.
The Celebrity Traitors discussion came as the new series had already attracted attention after its launch.
According to the Daily Star, actor Richard E. Grant was an early favorite, while one celebrity had already been eliminated.
Kay also addressed graffiti appearing in West Denton, Newcastle, that referenced his listening habits.
The Manchester Evening News reported that the messages were appearing daily and had prompted speculation among local residents and social media users.
Brennan raised the graffiti during the radio program, saying it was circulating widely online.
Kay recognized the reference to writing beneath a bridge.
"I've got something to bring up with you. Have you seen this thing going around about you online?"
Brennan asked.
Kay then acknowledged the reference before Brennan explained the claim written in the graffiti.
The message alleged that he listens to Steps while taking a bath.
"Oh, it's not the scrolling under the bridge, is it?" Kay said.
After Brennan confirmed the reference, Kay responded briefly before she identified the specific message.
The graffiti was one of several unusual claims reported in the West Denton area.
Brennan then described the message about Kay and Steps.
The presenter responded by singing lines from the group's hit song Tragedy before joking about the claim.
"If you haven't seen it, this is going everywhere. There's graffiti that says 'Vernon Kay listens to Steps in the bath'...
Is that true?" Brennan said.
Kay's show has a weekly audience of 6.8 million, according to RAJAR data cited by the Manchester Evening News.
He became BBC Radio 2's mid-morning host in May 2023 after the program had been presented by Ken Bruce for 31 years.
"Yeah, I've been outed!" Kay said.
The Manchester Evening News also reported other graffiti claims in West Denton involving Lorraine Kelly and Stacey Solomon.
The messages have been described as mysterious writings appearing around the small town near Newcastle.
