ARC Raiders is opening a four-day free play period across Steam, Xbox and PlayStation, running from October 8 to October 12, 2026.
The free access coincides with Frozen Trail, which Embark Studios describes as its biggest update since the game launched.
According to ARC Raiders, the free period begins at 09.00 UTC on October 8 and ends at 08.00 UTC on October 12.
Players can access the full game during that window, while the update introduces the snowy Pendola Pass map and new gameplay systems.
Pendola Pass and new encounters
New players can enter Pendola Pass immediately if they team up with players who have already unlocked the map, according to Embark Studios.
AOL reported that cross-play is supported and that PS5 players need a PS Plus subscription for multiplayer access.

Polygon reported that the update adds the Emperor and Frigate encounters, while Pendola Pass brings changing points of interest and loot zones for more varied strategies.
The map emphasizes vertical movement through mountainous terrain, heavy snow and frequent blizzards.
Softonic reported that the environment can expose players to ARC machines, rival players and dangerous weather, with avalanche shelters providing protection during blizzards.
A lower-rarity grappling hook is among the most prominent additions, able to attach to rock walls, ceilings, robots and structures.
Polygon found that it requires manual aiming and supports rapid movement between rooftops, while Softonic said its short range makes it useful for Pendola Pass's vertical terrain.
Frozen Trail also adds a tether launcher and yank grenade, plus a skill that improves wall scrambling and access to ledges.
These tools expand mobility and crowd-control options without substantially changing the core extraction-shooter format, according to hands-on reports.
Beyond exploration, the update adds personal spaces outside Speranza where players can build and improve workbenches.
Softonic also reported that the Research Station can upgrade weapons beyond their current limits, while Weapon Templates change appearances without altering weapon statistics.
“New players will be able to access Pendola Pass immediately if teamed up with other players who have already unlocked the new map,” Embark Studios said.
The free-play event is also intended to give prospective players a chance to experience the complete game before purchasing it.
AOL reported that ARC Raiders was listed at $19.99 on the PS Store through October 22 after a 50% discount.
