A trailer carrying 41,184 bottles of Irn Bru was stolen from a depot in Cumbernauld, Scotland, shortly before 6 p.

m. on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

The theft occurred at a site on Little Drum Road, and Police Scotland has launched an investigation.

The stolen shipment, worth nearly £30,000, contained 26 pallets of 500-milliliter bottles of Regular Irn Bru and Irn Bru Zero.

The trailer weighed approximately 22 tonnes and was intended for sale in stores.

Vehicle Spotted in Cumbria as Police Investigate

According to reports, the vehicle was later spotted in Cumbria, England, and CCTV footage showed it traveling south across the English border.

The trailer was bright orange, matching the distinctive color associated with the soft drink brand.

Kenny Nicholson, brand director at Irn Bru, commented on the difficulty of concealing such a recognizable vehicle.

"It was an interesting decision by the robbers, it’s not like a bright coloured Irn Bru truck is easy to hide.

We think they’ve forgotten just how recognised Irn Bru is – even in England."

"We appreciate their great taste but it’s really not on, we hope they are caught ‘orange handed’ soon, with Police Scotland’s finest on the case."

"The next line of enquiry must be ‘where the truck do you hide 41,000 bottles of Bru?’

If you have spotted anything suspicious, anyone with an unusually high stock of Bru, please get in touch with Police Scotland."

Police Scotland confirmed that inquiries are ongoing into the reported theft of a trailer containing pallets of bottled soft drinks from a property on Little Drum Road.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said the investigation remains active and urged anyone with relevant information to contact the force.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the reported theft of a trailer, containing pallets of soft drink bottles, from a premises on Little Drum Road, Cumbernauld, which happened shortly before 6pm on Sunday, 27 September, 2026."

"Anyone with information should report this to us via 101, quoting reference number 1461 of 28 September 2026."

Police Scotland has assigned reference number 1461, dated September 28, 2026, to the case.
