West Indies defeated India in the second Twenty20 International in Ranchi, levelling the five-match series at 1-1.

The result came despite India posting its highest-ever T20I total against the visitors, a record 250-run target.

India had won the opening match in Lucknow by eight wickets before the series shifted to Ranchi.

Mayank Yadav's Powerplay Burst

Fast bowler Mayank Yadav struck early to put the West Indies chase under pressure, taking three wickets inside the powerplay.

His pace and movement immediately troubled the visiting batters as West Indies began their pursuit of the target.

Substitute fielder Ravi Bishnoi completed an important catch near midwicket after sprinting in from square leg.

Mayank then dismissed Shimron Hetmyer with the next delivery, sending a 144 kmph short-of-a-length ball back into the batter and through to the stumps.

Hetmyer was dismissed for a golden duck, leaving West Indies at 5/2 after only four deliveries.

The early collapse gave India an opportunity to control the chase following its commanding batting display.

West Indies Recover to Draw Level

Despite the early setbacks, West Indies recovered sufficiently to secure victory and draw level in the series.

The result erased India's series advantage and left both teams level at 1-1 in the five-match contest.

India's innings had been built on strong contributions from Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer and Tilak Varma.

The home side could not convert its early bowling breakthroughs into a series-clinching win.

India selected Sanju Samson as wicketkeeper, Shreyas Iyer as captain and Mayank Yadav among its 11 players.

West Indies, led by Shai Hope as captain and wicketkeeper, sought to respond after losing the series opener.

The visitors' lineup included Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Sherfane Rutherford and Romario Shepherd.
