Connor Wood is turning a voting mix-up into a family moment on Dancing With the Stars.
The comedian and social media personality will dedicate his October 20, 2026 performance to his father, Pete.
Wood and professional partner Rylee Arnold are set to perform a Viennese waltz to Billy Joel's Piano Man.
Pete will join his son on the ballroom floor for the tribute.
The gesture follows an incident in which Pete accidentally sent 10 text messages to Walgreens while trying to vote for Wood in the ABC competition.
Reports from The Blast and Yahoo noted that the pharmacy chain's phone number was just one digit away from the show's voting number.
The error was shared through a TikTok video tied to Brooke and Connor Make a Podcast, the show Wood co-hosts with comedian and author Brooke Averick.
The moment has since become part of his public journey on the dance competition.
From TikTok Fame to the Ballroom
Wood, 31, entered the show's 35th season after building an online following on TikTok under the name Fibula.
He also completed a stand-up comedy tour that began in early 2024 and ran through early 2026, according to The Daily Targum's October 19 profile.
His performance with Arnold comes after a challenging week with the judges.
During Super Bowl Night, the pair performed a samba to Shakira's Hips Don't Lie and received 25 out of 40 points.
The score included three sixes from Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli, plus a seven from guest judge Joe Buck.
The result prompted complaints from some viewers who felt the pair had been judged too harshly.
The Daily Targum reported that Wood's highest scores came during the third week, when he earned two sevens and one six for a foxtrot to Fleetwood Mac's Everywhere.
In an interview with Us Weekly after the samba episode, Wood acknowledged the audience's reaction to the judges' feedback while expressing reservations about his own score.
He also said the booing directed at the judges had gone too far, recognizing that criticism was part of the competition.
Wood's connection with viewers has extended beyond the ballroom through his podcast with Averick, which began in 2022.
The co-hosts regularly discuss his performances and the judges' scores, while Averick has attended the competition to support her longtime friend.
In an October 15 interview with Stephanie McNeal, Wood described his experience on the show as a significant opportunity to reach audiences unfamiliar with his online comedy.
He said he had been surprised by the range of viewers discovering him through the competition.
Dedication Night also features other contestants honoring important people in their lives.
According to The Blast, Harry Shum Jr. is dedicating his performance to his wife, Shelby, while Jackson Olson is celebrating his mother and Amber Glenn is honoring her sister.
Julia Stiles is scheduled to remember her late 10 Things I Hate About You co-star Heath Ledger with a contemporary routine to Can't Take My Eyes Off of You.
The October 20 episode of Dancing With the Stars is scheduled to air at 8 p. m.
Eastern Time on ABC and Disney+.
