An Israeli border police officer is under investigation after CCTV footage surfaced showing him throwing a stun grenade into a Palestinian vehicle during a Sunday raid at the Qalandiya refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.
The video, distributed by the Israeli rights organization B'Tselem, shows the officer approaching the vehicle and engaging in a brief confrontation with the occupants before deploying the weapon inside and forcing the door shut.

“Shut your mouth. Who are you talking to like that?”
the officer shouted.
Moments later, the device exploded, filling the car with smoke as passengers fled from the opposite side while the officer fired his rifle.
B'Tselem confirmed all occupants survived.
Israeli authorities confirmed the justice ministry's department for investigating police officers is handling the case and has suspended the individual for violating official protocol.
During the same military operations at Qalandiya, the Palestinian health ministry reported that Israeli forces shot and killed 16-year-old Walid Abu Sneineh and injured three other Palestinians, including two children with gunshot wounds to the lower limbs.

Additionally, a four-month-old Palestinian baby, Ahmad Maarouf Zaid, died late Sunday after his family reported that Israeli forces blocked access to a checkpoint, forcing them onto unpaved mountain roads and delaying emergency medical treatment in Ramallah by over an hour.
An IDF spokesperson denied blocking the family from crossing to seek medical aid.
Yuli Novak, Executive Director of B'Tselem, expressed deep concern over the operational culture and accountability framework.
“The widespread and unprecedented killing of Palestinian children and teenagers in the West Bank is the result of a broader Israeli policy that allows the killing of Palestinians and violent abuse against them without any accountability,” she said.
United Nations data indicates that Israeli soldiers and settlers have killed at least 1,175 Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank since 2020, with children accounting for at least one-quarter of those fatalities.
