Ford employees in Canada have overwhelmingly approved a new three-year collective agreement, with 74% of Unifor members voting in favor.
The deal, effective September 21 and expiring September 19, 2029, includes significant wage increases and bonuses.

Hourly workers will receive a 9% wage increase over the contract term.
Full-time permanent employees are eligible for a $10,000 CAD ($7,101 USD) bonus, while temporary workers will receive $2,000 CAD ($1,420 USD).
By the end of the agreement, full-rate production workers' wages will rise to $50.20 CAD ($35.64 USD) per hour, and skilled trades workers will earn $62.71 CAD ($44.53 USD) per hour.
The contract also includes a cost of living allowance, increased Retirees Universal Healthcare Allowance payments, and enhanced payments to surviving spouses.
Investment in Canadian Operations
Ford has committed $1.25 billion CAD ($888 million USD) to its Canadian facilities.
This includes a previously planned investment in Oakville Assembly and $700 million CAD ($497 million USD) in new spending at the Essex Engine Plant.
The Essex investment will maximize production of the 5.0-liter V8 and support continued production and expansion of the 7.3-liter V8.

A third shift will be added at the plant starting in 2029.
Ford CEO Jim Farley stated, "This agreement is about investing in our people and Canada's future.
With this agreement and our continued investments in Oakville, Windsor and Essex, we're building on more than a century of manufacturing leadership in Canada."
He also emphasized the importance of a strong North American manufacturing system and a revised USMCA.
Unifor National President Lana Payne said, "Our members have ratified a strong agreement that delivers real gains and much needed stability despite unprecedented challenges facing Canadian autoworkers and the entire industry."
The agreement also provides support for laid-off Oakville Assembly workers, including a $10,000 CAD special payment and a program aimed at full employment by July 1, 2027.

With the Ford deal ratified, attention now turns to General Motors and Stellantis, as Unifor seeks similar gains and commitments to Canadian production.
