Independent digital artist Theottle has released new renderings of the next-generation Honda Accord, previewing a dramatic fastback design.
The images are based on Honda's recent Hybrid Sedan Prototype, with proportions borrowed from a Skoda Superb.

The most notable change is the sloping roofline, transforming the sedan into a fastback or liftback. The prototype also features sharper surfacing, split headlights, and slim full-width taillights.
The artist toned down some concept elements for production realism, including smaller five-spoke wheels, removed wheel arch cladding, and a less prominent ducktail spoiler.
The roof was also reshaped to avoid the angular look of the concept.
What Honda Has Said
Earlier this year, Honda marked the Accord's 50th anniversary and hinted at the next model.
Gary Robinson, Honda's Vice President of Auto Strategy, said customers will see a substantially redesigned Accord that feels like a new model, with an increased emphasis on sportiness.

The current 11th-generation Accord arrived in late 2022 and has seen only minor updates.
The next model is expected to use an upgraded version of the current platform, with a fully redesigned exterior, reworked cabin, and more efficient hybrid system.
Today's hybrid setup combines a 2.0-liter engine with two electric motors for 204 hp (152 kW / 207 PS).
The replacement is expected to be about 10 percent more fuel efficient and may adopt the S+ Shift system from the Prelude and Civic, which simulates manual gear changes through torque mapping, sound, and vibration.
The next Accord will continue to compete with traditional midsize sedans like the Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata, and Nissan Altima.

It may also face newer rivals, as the Ford Mustang Mach-4 and Chevy Camaro sedans are rumored to arrive before the decade ends.
