Wizards of the Coast is bringing four Warhammer 40K Commander decks back to distributors and stores after the 2022 releases became hard to find and climbed to hundreds of dollars on the secondary market.
A company spokesperson confirmed the small reprint to IGN on October 8, 2026, after reports emerged that game stores could order the decks.
Availability will depend on region and distributor stock, Wizards said.
"Yes, we can confirm that we did a small reprint of the Commander decks that will be available to distributors and stores soon," the spokesperson said.
Fans and WPN retailers should check with their distributors for availability, as it may vary by region.
Secondary-market prices and deck themes
The four decks originally retailed for $59.99 each, according to IGN.
MTG Rocks reported secondary-market prices of about $230 for The Ruinous Powers, $294 for Tyranid Swarm, $312 for Forces of the Imperium, and $356 for Necron Dynasties.
Forces of the Imperium focuses on Imperial forces, Necron Dynasties on Necron artifact creatures, Tyranid Swarm on Tyranid creatures, and The Ruinous Powers on Chaos forces.
Polygon reported that each deck contains 100 cards, including 42 cards created for the 2022 release.
Forces of the Imperium uses white, blue and black; Necron Dynasties is mono-black; Tyranid Swarm uses blue, red and green; and The Ruinous Powers uses blue, black and red.
The four decks were the first preconstructed products in Magic's Universes Beyond line, which brings outside entertainment properties into the card game.
IGN reported that the Warhammer 40K decks were well received when released in 2022.
Mark Rosewater, Magic's head designer, previously addressed whether cards introduced through the decks could receive Magic-themed versions.
"There are no current plans to make in-universe Magic versions of the new cards in the Warhammer 40K Commander decks (we make in-universe ones for the Secret Lair cards), but we have the capability to do it if needed on a card-by-card basis," Rosewater said in a blog post, according to IGN.
Wizards has not confirmed a reprint of the all-foil Collector's Edition decks.
The company also has not announced pricing or a specific retail release date for the new print run.
