Juventus drew 1-1 at Cagliari in the sixth round of Serie A on October 11, 2026, with Randal Kolo Muani equalizing in the 81st minute.

Daniel Maldini had given Cagliari the lead in the 20th minute, and the hosts held on for a point that lifted them to 13 points.

Juventus finished the round with 11 points after a difficult performance at the Unipol Domus.

Maldini's Early Goal and Cagliari's Strong Run

Maldini put Cagliari ahead by capitalizing on deflections inside the penalty area before finishing past Vicario after receiving the ball from Mendy.

It was his fourth league goal of the season and made him the first Cagliari player since João Pedro to score in at least four consecutive Serie A appearances.

João Pedro achieved a five-match streak between October and November 2020.

No Italian player had scored more Serie A goals during the current season than Maldini, who shared the total of four with Antonio Raimondo.

Maldini also became the first player in the competition that season to score in four separate matches.

Cagliari's result continued a strong run under Fabio Pisacane.

Since the penultimate round of the previous Serie A season in mid-May 2026, only Roma had collected more league points than Cagliari, which accumulated 19 points from six wins, one draw and one loss during that period, matching Lazio's total.

Juventus Fight Back but Miss Chances

Juventus struggled to create consistent attacking pressure in the first half despite an early opportunity for Nico Gonzalez.

Spalletti introduced Alajbegovic and Zhegrova at the start of the second half in an effort to improve the team's attacking output.

Zhegrova tested Cagliari goalkeeper Caprile early after entering the match, while Vicario stopped attempts from Mendy and Fadera that were subsequently flagged for offside.

Caprile also denied Zhegrova as Juventus increased their pressure.

The equalizer arrived when Alajbegovic delivered a cross into the penalty area and Kolo Muani headed the ball into the net.

The goal was his first in the league that season and his first Serie A strike since May 2025, when he scored against Venezia, ending a five-match league run without a goal.

Kolo Muani came close to scoring again moments later, striking the crossbar from close range.

Woltemade could not convert the rebound, and Kolo Muani subsequently missed with an attempted overhead kick before Caprile denied another effort from Woltemade shortly before the 90th minute.

Despite the missed chances, Kolo Muani's late equalizer secured a point for Juventus.

Five of his previous six Serie A goals had come away from home, according to Sport Mediaset, while his latest strike brought his total to two goals in his last three appearances across all competitions.

Edon Zhegrova also produced a notable individual statistic, recording five shots on target against Cagliari.

According to Sport Mediaset, no substitute had registered more shots on target in a single Serie A match since the league returned to a 20-team format in the 2004-05 season.

The match ended 1-1, with both head coaches, Spalletti and Pisacane, sent off at the final whistle.

Cagliari moved to 13 points after six league matches, while Juventus finished the round with 11.
