The New York Jets are adding veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick to their active roster from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.
The team announced the move on Saturday, October 10, 2026, while waiving wide receiver Jamaal Pritchett to make room for Patrick.
Linebacker Jaden Keller was also promoted from the practice squad for the Cleveland matchup.
Patrick Brings Size to Banged-Up Receiving Group
Patrick, 32, joined the Jets in March but had been sidelined since sustaining a groin injury during the first week of regular-season practices.
At 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds, he provides additional size to a receiving group dealing with injuries to Adonai Mitchell and rookie Omar Cooper Jr.
According to the team's statistics, Patrick caught 15 passes for 187 yards and three touchdowns in 16 regular-season appearances with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season.
He previously recorded 33 receptions for 394 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games with the Detroit Lions in 2024.
Patrick has accumulated 191 receptions for 2,590 yards and 18 touchdowns across his NFL career, according to the team's published figures.
He established himself with the Denver Broncos before later playing for Detroit and Jacksonville.
His return also offers the Jets another option as a blocker in the running game, according to The Jet Press.
The outlet reported that injuries have reduced the team's receiving depth since Cooper suffered an ankle sprain in Week 1 and Mitchell developed a finger injury before Week 3.
Pritchett loses his place on the 53-man roster after a brief appearance with New York's active squad.
The Jets signed the undrafted receiver from their practice squad in Week 3, and he made his NFL debut against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, playing three special-teams snaps and returning one kickoff for 27 yards, according to The Jet Press.
The 5-foot-8 receiver originally joined the Jets as an undrafted free agent in May 2025 and spent the previous season on the practice squad.
The team could bring him back to the practice squad if he clears waivers, although no such move was announced.
Keller, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound linebacker from Virginia Tech, was also elevated from the practice squad for the Cleveland matchup.
The move marks his second consecutive game-day elevation, according to the Jets' announcement.
Against the Chicago Bears in Week 4, Keller played 14 special-teams snaps, while The Jet Press reported that he recorded one tackle.
He also registered 10 total tackles and one pass defended during the preseason.
Keller joined the Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2026 before being released ahead of the regular season and subsequently added to the practice squad.
According to the team's records, he played 11 games for Virginia Tech last season, finishing third on the team with 50 tackles.
The Jets have one remaining practice-squad elevation available for Keller under the NFL's applicable rules, according to Heavy.
After his permitted elevations are exhausted, the team would need to add him to the active roster or use another option.
