Sydney Sweeney paused filming The Housemaid's Secret in Hoboken, New Jersey, to meet a group of young fans after promising to come back for photographs.
Videos shared on Instagram showed the actress keeping her word between scenes as production continued on the sequel to the 2025 thriller.
Sweeney is reprising her role as Millie, with Michele Morrone returning as Enzo.
The two were seen filming together in Hoboken on October 14, according to the source article published by AOL on October 16, 2026.
The original The Housemaid earned more than $400 million worldwide against a $35 million production budget.
Lionsgate approved the sequel less than a month after the first film's theatrical release, with Sweeney and Morrone confirmed to return shortly after the announcement.
Production details and cast
Paul Feig is returning to direct The Housemaid's Secret, with Sweeney and author Freida McFadden also serving as executive producers.
Kirsten Dunst joined the cast in March in an undisclosed role, while Paul Anthony Kelly will play Douglas Garrick.
Stephen Kalyn and Brittany Snow are also part of the ensemble.
The sequel follows Millie as she accepts a housekeeping position for a woman she never meets face-to-face.
The job takes a darker turn when Millie discovers secrets behind a locked door, according to the film's plot description in the source article.
Amanda Seyfried has also expressed interest in returning for the follow-up.
Speaking to Variety at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in January, the actress discussed wanting to see how the story would continue to make her character relevant.
The Housemaid's Secret is scheduled to open in theaters on December 17, 2027.
