Zenos has returned from the dead with a revived E10, roughly a decade after the British sports car maker collapsed into bankruptcy administration.

The company has unveiled two versions of the lightweight machine, dubbed the r2 and rZ, with more power and a far higher price tag than the original.

Zenos began selling the E10 in early 2014, but production ended abruptly in 2016.

AC Cars, another small British sports car manufacturer, acquired the assets the following year to revive the brand.

More power, little weight, much bigger price

The entry-level E10 r2 carries a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-4 producing 300 horsepower and 313 pound-feet of torque.

That is a significant step up from the old model's 200 hp and 155 lb-ft from a naturally aspirated Ford-sourced four-cylinder.

With a carbon fiber and aluminum construction tipping the scales at just 1,742 pounds, the r2 reaches 62 mph in 3.8 seconds and tops out at 150 mph.

Above it sits the E10 rZ, which uses a slightly smaller turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 yet delivers 380 hp and 376 lb-ft.

The top speed stays at 150 mph, but the 0-62 mph sprint drops to 3.2 seconds.

Buyers will need at least £129,900 to enjoy the extra output.

The price gap from the original is stark.

The 2016 E10 started at £26,995, while the new entry-level E10 r2 now begins at £115,900.

Visually, the new E10 looks pretty much identical to the original, though some significant upgrades have been made underneath.

Like its predecessor, the revived Zenos remains a no-frills, stripped-back sports car built for maximum driver enjoyment.

Both versions come with 6-speed manual transmissions, fully independent suspension, coilovers, and a limited-slip differential.

The dashboard has been updated to look more modern, adding a digital driver display and carbon fiber seats.

A windshield and a small wind deflector are optional.
