Espinal's Return
Espinal rejoins the Dodgers just days after being designated for assignment on Monday when Kiké Hernández was briefly activated from the IL.
He cleared waivers, elected free agency, and then re-signed with the team.
Kiké Hernández expressed frustration about the situation. “Frustrating to say the least,” he said.
“Not just because I missed time, but me coming back got somebody off the roster.”
Espinal provides a right-handed utility option capable of playing multiple infield and corner outfield positions.
“Espy is a guy that is good on the team, understands his value, he's ready when called upon,” Roberts said.
