Toyota has updated its long-running Probox commercial wagon for the 2027 model year, adding standard telematics that can alert authorities if the vehicle is driven aggressively.
The Japanese-market Probox, which dates back to 2002, now comes with Toyota's dedicated communication device (DCM) and five years of complimentary T-Connect services across all trims.
The key feature is the airbag-linked HelpNet system, which automatically calls emergency operators in the event of an accident.
Additionally, the vehicle can notify law enforcement if it detects aggressive driving, assuming the car has been stolen or the driver is in danger.

The update also introduces the eCare system, allowing drivers to connect to a call center when a warning light illuminates.
Toyota explains: "In situations where you're unsure whether you can continue driving, we offer advice on appropriate countermeasures."
Using the "My Toyota+" smartphone app, owners can remotely check if doors are locked or hazard lights are on, and receive notifications if the vehicle is unlocked.
The powertrain lineup remains unchanged, offering a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 108 hp (80 kW / 109 PS) or a 1.5-liter hybrid producing 99 hp (74 kW / 100 PS).
The gasoline model is available with front- or all-wheel drive via a CVT, while the hybrid is front-drive only.
Pricing and Availability
The updated Probox starts at ¥1,965,700 ($12,600) for the front-drive 1.5-liter gasoline model, or ¥2,127,400 ($13,600) with 4WD.
