“For sure, it’s easier to talk about being on the winning side,” Howden said.
Howden acknowledged that both rosters would look to make adjustments after analyzing the game film.
“A lot of momentum swings back and forth, both ways. It must have been a really fun game for fans to watch, for everyone to watch.
I think both teams will go back and watch (video), there’s a lot of things we can clean up still.
But super happy we were on top of this one,” he added.
Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore credited the team's resilience after surviving Carolina's aggressive opening forecheck.
“For sure, I thought it was a great game, for both sides, that’s a loud building to play in front of,” Theodore said.
Theodore noted that head coach John Tortorella used a television timeout during the first period to settle the players down.
“He just tried to calm us down a little bit,” Theodore said.
Hurricanes forward Seth Jarvis indicated that the high-scoring outcome was not a surprise given the offensive capabilities present on both rosters.

“No. Both teams have talent. Both teams have the ability to finish.
So, no,” Jarvis said.
Vegas forward Colton Sissons, who provided the decisive backhand pass to set up Hertl's game-winning goal, described the experience of playing in the matchup.
“It was fun, yeah. It was a lot of fun,” Sissons said.
Sissons noted that the locker room remained composed because of their veteran leadership.
