Two-time major golf champion John Daly has arrived in Akron, Ohio, ahead of the Ambassador Golf Award ceremony.
He visited the local Diamond Grille restaurant before the event.

The ceremony will take place at House Three Thirty.
Northern Ohio Golf Charities & Foundation will officially recognize Daly as the 2026 recipient of the Ambassador of Golf Award on July 9.
Daly expressed his gratitude for the honor. "I've always loved this game and what it's given me.
Golf has taken me places I never imagined and introduced me to incredible people along the way.

To be recognized with the Ambassador of Golf Award is truly an honor, and I'm proud to support the meaningful work being done here in Northeast Ohio," he said.
The award is part of the Kaulig Companies Championship, a PGA Tour Champions event. This year's tournament marks the final edition held at the historic Firestone Country Club.
The event runs from July 9 to 12.
Daly gained international fame after winning the 1991 PGA Championship as the ninth alternate. He later won The Open Championship at St. Andrews in 1995.

His arrival in Akron draws attention to the upcoming championship and the award ceremony.
