Dubai Police has expanded its fleet with a plug-in hybrid Denza B8, marking a shift from its usual lineup of European exotics.
The SUV, producing 738 hp, is the second generation of the force's Ghiath smart patrol vehicles.

The B8 joins a collection that includes Lamborghinis, a Mansory-tuned Rolls-Royce Cullinan, a Ferrari Purosangue, a BMW i8, and various Mercedes-AMGs.
Unlike those models, the Denza B8 is a Chinese plug-in hybrid, making it a practical addition.
Dubai Police signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Al-Futtaim, BYD's exclusive UAE distributor, to potentially acquire more B8 units.
The number of vehicles to join the fleet has not been disclosed.
Advanced Technology and Performance
The Ghiath smart patrol vehicles are designed to integrate artificial intelligence and advanced technologies. Authorities say the B8 will help improve response times and support sustainable security operations.
“This strategic partnership reflects our commitment to harnessing innovation to develop sustainable security solutions that support Dubai’s future vision,” said Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri.

The B8 is built on a body-on-frame platform and uses BYD's DMO Super Hybrid powertrain.
It combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, delivering 738 hp and 561 lb-ft of torque.
The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.8 seconds.
It wears Dubai Police's familiar white and green livery, with LED lights in the front grille and roof-mounted clusters.
In China, the Denza B8 is sold as the Fangchengbao Bao 8 and has been on the market for several years.
