The Denza N8, once a joint venture with Mercedes-Benz, has returned as a fully electric SUV with a tri-motor variant producing 1,193 hp—nine more than the Ferrari F80.

BYD's premium brand Denza unveiled the new N8 alongside a stretched six-seat N8L.

The standard N8 seats five, dropping the third row for a more traditional SUV shape with improved headroom.

Powertrain and Performance

Three powertrain options are available initially. Two single-motor rear-wheel-drive versions produce 429 hp and 496 hp respectively.

The flagship tri-motor configuration combines two 416 hp rear motors with a 362 hp front motor, totaling 1,193 hp.

This makes the N8 more powerful than the Ferrari F80's 1,184 hp.

Power comes from BYD's second-generation Blade Battery, supporting 1,500 kW Flash Charging. Charging times are expected to be comparable to refueling a combustion SUV.

Dimensions and Design

The N8 measures 202.7 inches long, 78.7 inches wide, and 71.6 inches tall on a 121-inch wheelbase.

The N8L adds 2.0 inches in length while keeping the same width, height, and wheelbase.

Design cues include LED daytime running lights similar to the Denza Z9, vertically stacked main headlamps, and a small black grille.

Options include 20- or 21-inch wheels, body-colored roofs, custom brake calipers, and integrated electronic side steps.

Both SUVs feature a dual-strip light bar at the rear, borrowed from Denza's plug-in hybrids.

The N8 also includes Denza's God's Eye 5.0 semi-autonomous driving system, using an end-to-end AI model trained on real-world data.
