Ford has released a new teaser of its upcoming LMDh hypercar, focusing on the engine note.
The video reveals a 5.4-liter naturally aspirated V8 that originated from the Mustang's Coyote V8.

The engine will work alongside a hybrid system. The sound is aggressive, comparable to the V8 growl of Cadillac's hypercar.
An earlier teaser, shared around July 4, showed the car's silhouette with a towering rear wing, shark fin, roof scoop, and slender front fascia.
The final design is still under wraps, but the aero elements are typical of the LMDh class.
Ford's return to top-tier endurance racing comes next year with its entry in the LMDh category. The car will compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

On-track testing is scheduled to begin next month at several European circuits.
Ford plans to field two cars driven by Matt Campbell, Nick Yelloly, Tom Blomqvist, Mike Rockenfeller, Logan Sargeant, and Sebastian Priaulx.
Ford is not the only new entrant in the LMDh class for 2027. McLaren will debut its MCL-HY hypercar, powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid.
This year, Genesis joined the class with its GMR-001, adding to existing entries from Lamborghini, Alpine, Porsche, Cadillac, BMW, and Acura.

These cars race alongside LMH cars from Toyota, Glickenhaus, Peugeot, Ferrari, Vanwall, Isotta Fraschini, and Aston Martin.
