Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is showcasing two innovations at the Caravan Salon 2026 in Germany.
The main attraction is the ID. California Cruise concept, which previews a family of electric campervans.

Alongside it, a California Beach features inflatable kitchen and bed modules developed with startup Stuff Bubble.
These modules aim to provide camping comfort without the permanent weight of traditional camper interiors.
Inflatable Kitchen and Bed Details
The inflatable kitchen measures 120 x 44 x 47.5 cm and weighs under 10 kg.
It clips into the existing luggage shelf rails and includes a closed water circuit.
The bed system offers a single (6 kg) or double (12 kg) configuration, measuring 200 x 134 cm.

Combined with the pop-up roof bed, the van can sleep up to four adults.
VW claims a single person can install or remove both modules in minutes.
This allows the van to serve as a daily driver and a weekend camper without compromise.
The modules are also adaptable to the Multivan T7 lineup.
VW will gather customer feedback at the show to guide future development.

Stefan Mecha, CEO of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said the product appeals to those who want camping comforts without a permanently fitted interior.
