The 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport has been put through its paces by Car and Driver, revealing impressive cornering ability that surpasses the Z06 and ZR1.
However, the decade-old C7 Grand Sport still holds the edge in braking performance.

Performance Numbers
The tested Grand Sport, a $142,380 3LT with the $20,695 Z52 Track Performance package and $10,995 carbon-fiber wheels, hit 60 mph in 2.7 seconds with a one-foot rollout.
The quarter-mile passed in 11.0 seconds at 123 mph, placing it between the old Stingray's 11.2 seconds and the Z06's 10.5 seconds.
Under the hood sits GM's new sixth-generation LS6, a 6.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 producing 535 hp and 520 lb-ft of torque.

This engine is shared with the 2027 Stingray, offering gains of 40 hp and 50 lb-ft over the previous 6.2-liter unit.
Handling and Braking
On the skidpad, the Grand Sport recorded a peak of 1.18 g, outperforming the Z06's 1.16 g, ZR1X's 1.14 g, and ZR1's 1.13 g.
Braking from 70 mph took 144 feet, which is longer than the ZR1X's 135 feet but notably worse than the C7 Grand Sport Z07's 123 feet.

The older C7 also matched the 1.18 g cornering figure, thanks in part to being over 200 lbs lighter.
