Cobblestone Car Wash has agreed to a $1,353,465 settlement with Colorado authorities over complaints about its monthly membership plans.
The state alleged that between August 2022 and February 2025, the company raised prices without proper notice, failed to provide required receipts, and made cancellation difficult.

As part of the settlement, Cobblestone will pay $19 to each of 71,235 eligible consumers.
The restitution fund covers members who had plans of at least $25 per month and experienced a price change without receiving at least $19 back.
It also includes customers who didn't get proper membership documentation and used the wash four times or fewer.
Changes to Membership Practices
Cobblestone denied any wrongdoing but agreed to overhaul its processes for at least three years.
The company must create clearer trial-period disclosures and provide retainable receipts or acknowledgements.

It will also offer a one-step online cancellation option for customers who signed up online.
Cobblestone must inform members about material changes to their plans and send periodic reminders that subscriptions continue unless canceled.
The settlement requires Cobblestone to submit its consumer-redress plan within 60 days and mail restitution checks within 150 days.
Any unclaimed money will go to the Colorado Attorney General's office for consumer-protection work.
During the investigation, Cobblestone had already refunded $253,406 to 2,204 customers.

It will also pay $20,000 toward the state's investigative costs.
