NBC's The Voice Season 30 opened its Battle Rounds on Monday, Oct. 12, with a two-hour Battles Premiere.

Coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green guided artists through head-to-head performances.

The episode followed six nights of Blind Auditions and marked the start of a new competition phase.

According to Cleveland. com, each coach entered the Battles with a 12-artist team and one steal available.

Cut Week Replaces Knockout Round

Season 30 replaces the traditional Knockout Round with Cut Week after the Battles.

NBC described the new stage as the "biggest elimination in Voice history" as contestants compete for remaining Live Shows positions.

During Cut Week, each coach will advance two artists directly to the Live Shows, while five others from each team compete for one additional place.

Viewers will then choose one more artist, creating a Top 13 lineup.

The show will also change its voting format when Live Shows begin.

Executive producer Audrey Morrissey explained that results will be determined during the same broadcast instead of a separate results episode.

"It's real-time voting," said Audrey Morrissey, executive producer.

Morrissey said the format allows performances and eliminations to happen within the same episode.

The Live Shows will run for six weeks after the Battle Rounds and Cut Week.

"So, everybody performs, and we find out that night who's moving on," said Audrey Morrissey, executive producer.

The schedule will shift after the Battle episodes.

According to Yahoo, The Voice will air on Mondays and Tuesdays on Oct. 12 and Oct.

13 before moving to Monday-only episodes because NBC's NBA partnership will occupy the previous Tuesday slot.

The Battle episodes feature guest advisors supporting each team.

Patti LaBelle joins Team Queen, Carly Pearce works with Team Riley, Alex Warren advises Team Adam, and Ariana DeBose assists Team Kelly.

Season 30 also introduced new coaches Queen Latifah and Riley Green alongside returning coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson.

The Battles pair artists from the same team for duet performances, with coaches selecting winners to advance.
