GameStop Corp.

shares climbed to a fresh 52-week high during Monday trading, October 12, 2026, as recent insider purchases and an approaching warrant expiration deadline drew investor attention.

According to TradingView, the video game retailer's stock traded between $26.82 and $27.02, surpassing its previous 52-week peak of $26.88 recorded on May 1.

GameStop shares were up 1.05% at $26.84 at the time of publication.

The stock had risen approximately 27% over the preceding year, after trading as low as $17.79.

Insider Purchases and Warrant Deadline in Focus

Recent purchases by company executives and directors provided additional context for the rally.

On October 2, CEO Ryan Cohen purchased 700,000 shares for approximately $17.1 million, following several multimillion-dollar purchases in September.

Director Nat Turner acquired 10,462 shares on October 1, while fellow director Lawrence Cheng purchased 55,000 shares in September.

Such transactions can indicate management's confidence in a company's long-term prospects, although insider buying does not guarantee future share price gains.

GameStop also faces an approaching deadline for warrants distributed to eligible shareholders in October 2025.

Under the arrangement described by TradingView, shareholders received one warrant for every 10 shares held on the record date.

Each warrant provides the right to purchase one common share for $32 before expiration on October 30, 2026.

With GameStop shares trading below that exercise price, buying through a warrant currently costs more than purchasing shares directly in the market.

Warrants that remain unused after October 30 become worthless, according to the report.

The approaching expiration date represents another factor investors may consider when assessing trading activity in the stock.

Market movements earlier in October also highlighted GameStop's relative performance.

On Thursday, October 8, shares gained more than 4%, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.59% and the S&P 500 declined 0.67%, according to TradingView.

The stock's technical levels show a recovery from its August low.

After falling from its May 1 high to $17.79 on August 20, GameStop moved above its 20-day moving average of $24.13, its 50-day average of $20.98 and its 200-day average of $22.36.

The 20-day moving average has moved above the 50-day average, while the 50-day average remains below the 200-day average.

TradingView identified resistance near $27.00 and support at $22.50, placing the stock close to a key resistance level during Monday's session.
