Regional Difficulty Rankings
The tournament selection committee used the Rating Percentage Index to evaluate bracket difficulty based on win-loss records and strength of schedule.
The Lawrence Regional, hosted by Kansas for the first time in program history, ranks as the most difficult bracket with an RPI average of 37.75.
Other tough regionals include Hattiesburg (38.00), College Station (39.00), and Chapel Hill (39.25).
West Virginia hosts the Morgantown Regional as the No. 16 national seed, relying on Big 12 Pitcher of the Year Maxx Yehl to counter a Wake Forest offense ranked in the top 26 nationally in home runs and OPS.
In the Auburn Regional, the host Tigers face UCF, Milwaukee, and an NC State squad led by coach Elliott Avent, who announced his retirement after 30 seasons with the Wolfpack.
The SEC enters the regional round seeking its seventh consecutive national title, having advanced 12 of its 16 member institutions into the 2026 tournament field.
After the regionals, advancing programs will compete in best-of-three super regionals scheduled for June 5–8.

The final eight teams will progress to the championship tournament from June 12 through June 22.
