The victory advanced Florida to the regional championship game while sending Miami into an elimination matchup.

Florida set postseason program records by launching seven home runs, including five in the eighth inning alone.

Miami outhit Florida 16-15, but their pitching staff issued 12 walks and the defense committed four errors, leading to 11 unearned runs.

Florida sealed the win in the eighth inning with three consecutive home runs from Brendan Lawson, Blake Cyr, and Ethan Surowiec, followed by a two-run shot from Karson Bowen.
Cade Kurland also hit his second home run of the game in the same frame off Miami's Tate DeRias.
"The fans were unbelievable tonight," said Florida head coach Kevin O'Sullivan. "I've never seen the atmosphere like it was tonight, and it helped.
There is no question it helped us the entire night."
