MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers secured a 6-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night at Angel Stadium in California, extending their West Coast road trip with another win.
Left-hander Shane Drohan delivered a solid start, pitching six innings and striking out seven while allowing two runs on four hits and one walk.

The Brewers improved to 68-41 with the win, having won nine of their last 13 games. The Angels, meanwhile, dropped to 42-68, suffering their fourth consecutive loss.

Milwaukee opened the scoring in the second inning when Jake Bauers and Garrett Mitchell singled, followed by a two-out RBI single from Cooper Pratt.
In the fifth inning, Brice Turang led off with a walk and then launched a 398-foot home run over the left-center wall, extending the lead to 3-0.

After Turang's homer, Jackson Chourio singled and William Contreras walked before Bauers hit a three-run homer to right field, increasing Milwaukee's lead to 6-0.

The Angels managed to score two runs in the bottom of the fifth when Vaughn Grissom singled and Denzer Guzman hit a two-run homer to right-center, his fifth of the season.
Brewers relievers Grant Anderson, Abner Uribe, and closer Trevor Megill combined to shut out the Angels in the final innings.
Angels starter Ryan Johnson struggled, giving up five runs and six hits in 4⅓ innings before being replaced by right-hander Jose Fermin.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy had started Shane Drohan on July 31 and planned Robert Gasser and Jacob Misiorowski for subsequent games in the series.

Drohan has posted a 3.51 ERA with 82 strikeouts in 82 innings this season, while Johnson's ERA remains high at over 7.30 for the Angels.
