Incoming five-star recruit Deron Rippey Jr. has shared his expectations as he prepares for his first collegiate season at Duke this fall.
Speaking about his immediate future, Rippey Jr. emphasized his on-court progression as the primary objective for the pre-season months.

“The biggest thing I’m looking forward to in the summer is getting the feedback and ultimately evolving from a top high school player into a top college player,” Rippey told SLAM.
High School Accolades
Rippey Jr. established a strong high school record, securing the Gatorade Basketball Player of the Year award in New Jersey twice.
During his final season at Blair Academy, he averaged 15.7 points, 6.3 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and two steals per game.

NBA Aspirations
The incoming athlete expressed a clear determination to advance his game beyond the university level.
“Using that feedback (from Duke coaches) to shape me as a top college player to an NBA prospect as well.
That’s my biggest goal,” he said.
