FC Köln has officially exercised its purchase option to permanently sign Polish attacker Jakub Kaminski from VfL Wolfsburg, effective after the 2025-26 season.

The 23-year-old winger spent the season on loan at Köln, where he established himself as a key player.
Kaminski made appearances in all 36 competitive matches for the club, contributing seven goals and five assists.
Club Director Praises Kaminski's Character
Managing director Thomas Kessler expressed strong approval of the permanent acquisition, highlighting the player's personality and work ethic.
“Kuba impressed us with his personality right from our initial discussions. He is down-to-earth, ambitious, and a true team player,” Kessler said.
Kessler noted that Kaminski consistently demonstrated these qualities during his daily routines with the club.
“Last season, he demonstrated these qualities every day, both on and off the pitch.

Therefore, it quickly became clear to us that we wanted to exercise our purchase option,” Kessler added.
The club executive also emphasized that Kaminski's development serves as an example for other prospects.

Despite his age, Kaminski has accumulated substantial top-flight experience. He debuted for Lech Poznan at age 17 and made his international debut for Poland at 19.

His career includes playing in the 2022 World Cup and recording 104 total Bundesliga appearances since moving to Wolfsburg.
