The Los Angeles Angels avoided a series sweep by defeating the Colorado Rockies 11-4 on Wednesday in Anaheim.

After dropping the first two games, including an 8-2 loss on Tuesday, the Angels' offense erupted in the second inning with six runs.

Jose Siri started the scoring with an RBI double, and Nick Madrigal scored on a wild pitch.

Logan O'Hoppe and Vaughn Grissom added RBI singles, Mike Trout crossed home on another wild pitch, and Oswald Peraza capped the inning with an RBI single.

Grissom extended the lead in the fourth with a two-run homer, making it 8-1.

Jo Adell drove in a run with a single to push the score to 9-3, and the Angels added two more in the sixth on RBI hits by Peraza and Madrigal.

Eight different Angels had at least one hit, and six players recorded at least one RBI.

Grissom went 2-for-5 with three RBIs, while Wade Meckler went 4-for-5 with two runs scored.

Walbert Urena pitched six innings, allowing three runs on three hits, with three walks and seven strikeouts. He improved to 3-4 with a 2.68 ERA.

Rockies starter Michael Lorenzen lasted only 3.1 innings, giving up eight runs on 10 hits, raising his ERA to 8.01.

Tyler Freeman and Troy Johnston each drove in two runs for Colorado, but the early deficit was too much to overcome.

The Angels have an off-day Thursday before traveling to face Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers for a three-game series.

Reid Detmers (2-5, 4.63 ERA) is projected to start Friday against Roki Sasaki (3-3, 4.59 ERA).
