Several other regional athletes are positioned to challenge for titles during the two-day state competition.
Menomonie senior Lauren McCalla, a University of Washington commit who won a state cross country title last fall, is scheduled to compete in both the 800-meter and 1,600-meter events after finishing second in both races last year.
The Bloomer girls team is contending for the Division 2 team title.
The Hartman triplets—Ciara, Briella, and Aliya—and junior Sophie Strand aim to secure their third consecutive state title in the 4x800 relay after setting a state record last season.
Ciara Hartman also looks to repeat as the 1,600-meter champion following her 2024 victory in the 3,200-meter run.
In the boys Division 1 field, Eau Claire North senior and Indiana football commit Kenton Mondeau enters the discus competition as a top contender.

He won his sectional with a throw of 178 feet, 5 inches, while teammate Cayden Caldwell placed second with a mark of 162 feet, 2 inches.
