A severe storm capsized a boat on Lake Geneva in southern Wisconsin on Friday, July 3, 2026, resulting in three deaths and seven rescues, according to local officials.
Walworth County Sheriff's Department Undersheriff Tom Hausner confirmed multiple injuries across the county as the storm downed trees, toppled power lines, and damaged structures.

Hausner said he did not have additional details about the identities of the deceased or those rescued. The City of Lake Geneva Police Department is investigating the incident.
Emergency responses were significantly delayed because falling trees and downed power lines blocked streets, prompting authorities to request assistance from neighboring county police and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
