Animals at the Guadalajara Zoo in Mexico have made their predictions for the opening matches of the 2026 World Cup during a special enrichment activity.
The event began with two elephants choosing to eat grass on the side of a makeshift field marked with the Mexican flag, forecasting a victory for Mexico in the opening match on June 11.

Gorillas and Other Animals Join Predictions
Two gorillas, Chenchi and Faustina, selected a piñata shaped like the Uruguay jersey over Spain, predicting a win for Uruguay on June 26.
A puma named Muluk chose South Korea over the Czech Republic, while six giraffes selected the Democratic Republic of Congo over Colombia.

Zookeeper Ivan Reynoso explained that the activity enriches the animals and entertains visitors anticipating the tournament.
"This kind of activity enriches them a great deal, not only visually for the audience but for them as well," he said.

The tradition follows famous animal predictions like Paul the Octopus during the 2010 World Cup.
