The Atlanta Braves made significant changes to their pitching staff on Monday, placing left-hander Martín Pérez on the 15-day injured list and designating right-hander Carlos Carrasco for assignment.
Pérez was hit on the left forearm by a line drive from Juan Soto during Sunday's 10-9 loss to the New York Mets.

X-rays were negative, manager Walt Weiss confirmed.
This season, Pérez has a 3.54 ERA over 18 appearances.
Carrasco was designated for assignment after allowing five runs in two innings on Sunday.
To fill the roster spots, the Braves recalled right-hander JR Ritchie and promoted top pitching prospect Owen Murphy from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Murphy, ranked as the organization's No. 11 prospect by Keith Law, is expected to make his Major League debut out of the bullpen.
