Samsung will add USDC cross-border remittances to Samsung Wallet for eligible U. S.

Galaxy users in the last week of October 2026.

The rollout covers more than 60 countries and reaches 82 million devices, according to Samsung and its partners.

Users will be able to send USDC without installing a separate crypto app or managing private keys.

Recipients can receive local currency through eligible bank accounts, while external wallet transfers will carry no Samsung fee.

Third-party charges may still apply.

Solana, Sui and Bastion Power the Service

The service will use Solana and Sui for blockchain network support.

Bastion will provide regulated custody, account operations, compliance and remittance infrastructure, according to Bastion.

Coinbase will act as Bastion's USDC sub-custodian through Coinbase Prime Vault.

Samsung said transfers will use integrated funding and payout services, with registered Galaxy devices and biometric authentication required to authorize transactions.

Bastion will also screen users and blockchain addresses for compliance and monitor transactions for fraud, money laundering and sanctions exposure.

Samsung said the service is designed to make international transfers operate through an existing wallet rather than a separate crypto application.

"Sending money abroad should feel as convenient as using the wallet already on your phone," said Woncheol Chai, head of Samsung Electronics' digital-wallet team.

Chai said the integration removes several steps normally associated with stablecoin transfers for eligible Galaxy users.

"We're bringing USDC transfers into Samsung Wallet so eligible Galaxy users can get started without installing another app or managing private keys themselves," Chai said.

Bastion said its infrastructure will support custody, identity checks, transaction authorization and cross-border payouts.

The company said its system converts USDC and routes local-currency payments through regulated partners in destination countries.

"The crypto industry has spent years talking about reaching the mainstream, and this is what it looks like.

Samsung is putting stablecoins in front of millions of U. S.

Galaxy users," said Nassim Eddequiouaq, CEO of Bastion.

Eddequiouaq said Bastion is intended to keep the underlying financial infrastructure largely invisible to users while handling custody and compliance requirements.

"Most of them will never think about custody, compliance, blockchains, or cross-border remittance rails, and that's exactly the point.

Financial infrastructure works best when people don't have to see it. We built Bastion to handle that complexity so the experience feels simple and safe," Eddequiouaq said.

Solana Foundation President Lily Liu said stablecoins could reduce friction in international money movement.

Liu said Samsung's distribution could broaden access beyond existing crypto users.

"Stablecoins have the potential to make moving money around the world faster and easier, and we want Galaxy users to be able to take advantage of that without having to navigate the complexity of traditional crypto tools," Liu said.

Samsung previously said it planned to introduce stablecoin savings and payment features across hundreds of millions of Galaxy phones.

The U. S.

remittance rollout is its first large-scale deployment, according to the source reports.

"Mass adoption was never going to come from people downloading crypto apps. It comes from the phone already in your pocket.

I expect Apple and Google to follow, and when they do, sending money abroad will feel as easy as sending a text," said Kevin Lehtiniitty, CEO of Borderless.

Samsung said future capabilities could include stablecoin payments online and through tap-to-pay transactions on eligible Galaxy devices.

Expansion beyond the U. S.

will depend on regulatory conditions in each market.

"Stablecoins have the potential to make moving money around the world faster and easier, and we want Galaxy users to be able to take advantage of that without having to navigate the complexity of traditional crypto tools.

Bastion brings regulated custody, stablecoin account operations, cross-border remittances, and compliance capabilities that help us deliver this experience with confidence," Chai said.
