Irish rock band U2 released their new single "Street of Dreams" on July 7, 2026, offering the first preview of their forthcoming untitled studio album, expected later this year.

The track is the band's first new material leading into a full-length album since 2017's Songs of Experience.

Produced by Jacknife Lee, the single features U2's classic sound with Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. The release follows two EPs from February 2026, Days of Ash and Easter Lily, as reported by Pitchfork and Radio Nova.

The music video was shot in May 2026 near Plaza Santo Domingo in Mexico City, where the band attended the 2026 Street Child World Cup Finals Tournament.

During filming, unexpected thunderstorms caused the primary generator to fail, drawing a large crowd of onlookers.

A local family invited the four band members into their apartment, allowing the crew to complete the video from their balcony overlooking the streets.

Audio Ink Radio noted that the street-level perspective complements the song's themes of perseverance and hope.

The single arrives ahead of U2's 50th anniversary on September 25, 2026.

The band formed after Larry Mullen Jr. posted a notice at Dublin's Mount Temple Comprehensive School seeking musicians.
