Robert Pattinson has drawn a surprising comparison between his role in Christopher Nolan's upcoming film The Odyssey and a character from the Twilight saga.
During a promotional interview with MTV UK via Deadline, the actor likened his portrayal of Antinous to Jacob Black, the werewolf played by Taylor Lautner in the vampire romance series.

The comparison comes as Universal Pictures' countdown trailer for the $250 million production has sparked significant online backlash, accumulating 651,000 dislikes against 71,000 likes on YouTube within a week.
Pattinson's Take on Antinous
Pattinson described the primary antagonist he portrays by referencing his previous prominent role to explain how audiences might view the character's dynamic with Penelope, played by Anne Hathaway.
"I think they will be rooting for him. I keep comparing it — it's kind of like Jacob in Twilight," said Pattinson.
The actor further detailed his interpretation of the plot, which departs from Homer's classical epic by introducing elements of a love triangle.
"What The Odyssey is about — Penelope just can't make her mind up between the two guys and I'm just trying to like help her make a decision.
It's like, 'It's fine. He's dead, get over it,'" he added.

The promotional strategy for the film has heavily relied on references to older superhero and fantasy intellectual properties, according to Cosmic Book News.
During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast reported by Variety, co-star Anne Hathaway shared details about her past audition for Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, recalling her initial assumption that she was auditioning for a different character.
"Transform!" said Hathaway.
The high-budget adaptation follows the journey of Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, returning home from the Trojan War.
The ensemble cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page, and Mia Goth.
