Developed by Game Studio Inc., the title recreates the MMO experience from the iconic Aincrad arc of the Sword Art Online franchise.
In this virtual death game, 10,000 players are trapped, and dying in-game means real-world death.
New Custom Avatar System
Unlike previous games that focused on series protagonist Kirito, Echoes of Aincrad allows players to explore the world using their own custom avatar.
The story introduces a brand-new cast of characters.

Early reviews have noted a mixed reception for the gameplay structure.
IGN reported that the game features a restrictive, semi-open world across only two floors, which slows narrative progression despite an engaging combat system.
"The story, however, is stalled by the barebones open regions," the IGN reviewer stated.
The outlet also noted repetitive environments, including a first floor of woodlands and a second floor of desert terrain, along with highly recycled monster designs.
