Manchester United and Trafford Council have unveiled a joint master plan to build a new 100,000-seat stadium just 350 meters from the current Old Trafford site.
The project is the centerpiece of the multi-billion-pound Trafford Wharfside regeneration plan, which is projected to create 48,000 regional jobs and 15,000 new homes while contributing £7.3 billion annually to the UK economy.

The proposed sports and entertainment hub will occupy a 25-acre triangular plot between Wharfside Way, Europa Way, and John Gilbert Way.
The land was secured last month from Blackstone-owned real estate firm Indurent.
Club officials chose this site after land acquisition talks with Freightliner stalled over a valuation that sources indicated approached £400 million.
Developing the new stadium adjacent to the current footprint allows Manchester United to maintain full capacity crowds during construction.
A final decision on the demolition of the historic Old Trafford has not been made.

Collette Roche, chief executive of New Stadium Development at Manchester United, said the masterplan marks a significant milestone in creating a world-class home for the club at the heart of a transformational district for Trafford and Greater Manchester.
Roche emphasized that the location preserves the club's heritage and matchday rituals while upgrading transport infrastructure.
She added that community feedback will remain central to the design phases to ensure the venue is accessible and atmospheric.
Trafford Council leader Cllr Tom Ross expressed support for the broader economic and social impacts of the development.
Ross noted that a public consultation process will soon begin to gather feedback from residents and businesses.
