MG has unveiled two concept cars at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, including the Go! – a compact electric hatchback that previews a production model arriving in 2027.

The Go!

concept draws inspiration from classic MG models such as the MGB GT, the 6R4 Group B rally car, the Metro Turbo, and the ZR.

It is expected to become the MG2, an electric subcompact that will compete with the Renault 5 and Mini Cooper E.

MG says the design borrows elements from the past to create emotional appeal today, without simply recreating older cars.

The front grille outline and headlights nod to the MGB GT, while the swollen fenders subtly reference the 6R4.

The overall look remains modern and attractive.

The second concept, called the Cyber Concept, is a large electric performance SUV with styling reminiscent of the Ferrari Purosangue.

It takes inspiration from MG's record-breaking EX181 streamliner from the 1950s but is far from production-ready, lacking even an interior.

An MG spokesman told Autocar that if it does reach production, it might not be sold in the UK.

MG hopes the Go!

will capture the spirit of the ZR, which was popular among young drivers in the 2000s for its fun handling, tough styling, and low costs.

The brand aims to replicate that success with the MG2 in the affordable EV segment.
