The first trailer for Alejandro González Iñárritu's upcoming comedy-drama, Digger, has been released, featuring Tom Cruise in an unconventional role.
Cruise plays Digger Rockwell, an oil baron on a quest to avert an ecological disaster. The film is set for a global release in early October.

He said, "I have never had something that could challenge me in this way and neither had Alejandro when we went in, ever," as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
He emphasized the film's originality.

In the trailer, Cruise adopts a distinctive look with a grey combover and a pot belly, using a strong southern accent for his character.
