In the wake of Senator Lindsey Graham's death, late-night hosts have taken to their shows to reflect on his legacy and the aging nature of the US government.

Jon Stewart, on The Daily Show, opened with a humorous take on Donald Trump's peculiar responses during recent TV appearances.

Stewart played footage of Trump remarking that Graham called him too often, to which Stewart quipped, "I'll never forget the way I always let him go to voicemail."

The host expressed his grief, stating he had "zoomed through the first five stages of grief and went straight to number six: fuck that guy."

This sentiment was underscored by a critique of Trump's audacity to roast Graham for talking too much.

Trump's commentary didn't stop there; he mentioned giving Graham a score of 99 out of 100 for his response to the January 6 riots.

Stewart humorously noted, "My favourite part of any eulogy is when they announce the person's life score," likening Trump's delivery to a food review.

Reflections on Graham's Legacy and Congress

Stewart highlighted Graham's infamous dedication to fixing international issues, including challenges in Iran, saying, "Middle East peace is about as ambitious as a bucket-list item can get."

He also expressed surprise at Graham's death occurring before Mitch McConnell's, given McConnell's public health issues, exclaiming, "How the fuck is that possible?"

Stewart then shifted to McConnell, displaying a viral photo of him looking unexpectedly cheerful in a hospital bed, remarking on the absurdity of Congress losing six members this term.
