The public relationship between the two former pageant winners includes previous sentimental public statements, including a message written by Dutta on the 20th anniversary of their titles.

Chopra previously acknowledged the sentiment with a short phrase highlighting their bond.

Both actresses entered the Hindi film industry after their modeling careers, debuting together onscreen in the 2003 romantic drama Andaaz alongside Akshay Kumar, and later appearing in the 2011 action sequel Don 2.

Chopra is scheduled to return to Indian cinema in April 2027 with SS Rajamouli's sci-fi film Varanasi, while Dutta is set to appear in Nitesh Tiwari's high-budget production Ramayana: Part 1 on Diwali 2026.
