Both players showcased powerful serves early on. Zverev averaged 132mph on first serves and landed 76 percent of them.

The first service break came after two and a half hours in the seventh game of the third set.

Zverev hit a double fault and successive forehand errors to concede the break to Sinner.

Sinner capitalized on Zverev's mistakes to claim the second set tie-break and level the match.

The 24-year-old now holds a 5-2 record in grand slam finals, with this being his fifth major title.

Sinner entered Wimbledon following a historic ATP tour run, securing seven consecutive three-set tournament titles and 39 straight match victories.

The victory comes just over a month after his second-round collapse at the French Open against Juan Manuel Cerúndolo.

Zverev advanced to the final with momentum after winning his first grand slam at Roland Garros last month.

He carried a nine-match losing streak against Sinner into the final.

Zverev executed an ultra-offensive strategy to take the first set in an extended tie-break.

He delivered a down-the-line forehand winner to close the set at 8-7 despite multiple unforced errors.

In the fourth set, Sinner faced a 15-30 deficit while trailing 1-2 in gusty winds.

He fired three consecutive service winners to hold serve and preserve the lead.
