Taylor Farms has recalled potentially contaminated shredded iceberg lettuce across 27 states on Friday, as US cyclosporiasis cases continue to rise.
The recall involves produce sourced from the company's facility in Guanajuato, Mexico, due to possible contamination with the cyclospora parasite.

The affected products were shipped as recently as Thursday, though specific brand names and retail locations were not disclosed.
Health officials are facing a widening outbreak, with more than 1,600 cases linked to the product. Michigan alone has confirmed over 5,000 cases since late June.
FDA and Corporate Response
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is actively monitoring the situation.
Taco Bell became the first restaurant chain to halt produce service in several states after federal warnings against eating the shredded lettuce in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia.
“FDA’s investigation is ongoing,” the agency stated. “Additional implicated brands, restaurants, retailers, or distribution channels may be identified as the investigation continues.”
Dr Donald Prater, acting deputy commissioner for food at the FDA, told journalists on Tuesday: “We are aware of the signal for lettuce.

National health leaders have addressed the seasonal nature of the parasitic threat.
The current spike drastically exceeds the 249 confirmed cases recorded across all states during the previous summer.
“There are cyclospora outbreaks every summer,” Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr said on a podcast Friday, in his first public comments on the outbreak.
“Now that we know the region's probable culprit, I think it’s going to be much easier for people to make healthy choices.”
Taylor Farms has faced previous safety challenges, including a 2013 cyclospora outbreak at major restaurant chains and an October 2024 E.
